Trusting AI to automate finance operations

Kunal co-founded AppZen in 2012 and developed its core artificial intelligence technology. He is passionate about developing AI-based solutions to solve real-world business problems. He is responsible for AppZen’s product vision, and oversees the company’s R&D and data science teams. Previously, he led research teams at Accenture Technology Labs that were responsible for developing AI-based tools for Fortune 500 companies. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the University of Georgia with a focus on semantic technologies.

Rama Akkiraju is an IBM Fellow, and CTO for AI operations portfolio for products at IBM. She is also a Master Inventor and a member of the IBM Academy of Technology and has led the People Insights initiative at IBM's Watson division. She and her team have developed and released multiple AI services such as Personality Insights, Tone Analyzer, and Emotion Analysis at IBM Watson by employing psycho-linguistic, machine learning (ML) and natural language processing (NLP) techniques. Rama has co-authored over 10 book chapters and over 100 technical papers. She has over 35 issued patents and more than 20 others pending. She holds a Master's degree in Computer Science and an MBA.
