The Merchant Category Check Base Model searches thousands of databases and websites to verify whether a merchant is associated with any questionable activity, including adult entertainment, movie theaters, spas, golf, etc. This model uses detailed information in social sites and credit card transactions, as well as MCC codes, to identify the real identity of merchants. Regardless of the expense type and the MCC code, merchants with questionable business purposes are flagged as high risk.
