Organizations have made significant changes and investments to enable remote work – but what has it meant for employees, and specifically their expense claims? Our research uses the management of employee spending as a lens on the new way of working. The study shines a light on shifts in expense policies during the pandemic and uncovers differences in reimbursements based on genders and role gaps. The findings are an indication that while many things have changed in 2020, many old and painful truths still require more effort to resolve.
